Because the Finca is now a part of the 'Sierra de las Nieves' nature reserve you are truly in close contact with nature. Just open the gate of the finca and choose one of the hikes available.

It is only a 25-minute drive from the Mediterranean coast and cosmopolitan Marbella with the picturesque old town, the beautiful promenade and the many beaches.

Jump in your car and within 10 minutes you can relax in the surroundings of the nature reserve, ideal for hikers, cyclists and those who enjoy a gentle stroll. The "Sierra de las Nieves" nature reserve has been designated a European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) by the European Commission in recognition of its proposal for sustainable tourism. It is a veritable green paradise that provides an opportunity for close contact with nature and wildlife, especially the Spanish Ibex. If you want to go further afield the 'El Torcal' Natural Reserve is the most geologically stunning of all of Andalucia’s natural parks. Renowned for its unique limestone formations, it has a surreal, almost eerie feel to it. You could combine this with a visit to the 5,000 year old Dolmens of Antequera

If you want a more leisurely outing, then a day at the "Embalses de Guadalhorce" reservoirs, only 40 minutes away is perfect:

You can relax by the lake, enjoy a sociable picnic or visit the 2 restaurants with great views over the lakes. Hire a pedal boat, a kayak or go supping (standup paddle boarding) or take a refreshing dive into the cool clear water. For the adrenalin seekers, how about a walk along 'El Caminito del Rey'? This famous walk was one of the most dangerous hikes in the world but it has now been completely renovated and is perfectly safe. You do need to order tickets online beforehand! After your trip to the lakes, a visit to the village of Ardáles on the drive home is worth it. This could be a full day-trip.

Or more challenges such as the Zipline adventure and gastronomic park, or a bit less challenging the Cablecar and Sealife in Benalmádena with its lovely harbour, and while we are in the area visit the Colomares Castle or the Bio Park in Fuengirola, Selwo Park in Estepona but also very close by the Eco Reserva Ojén to watch and touch the dear in the wild.

Another recommended day trip is a visit to the beautiful city of Antequera with its Castle and Santa María Basilica and the Dolmen of Viera, maybe on the way back visit the Wolf park

Malaga is the nearest for a city trip and the historic cities of Ronda, Granada, Seville and Jerez de la Frontera can be reached within 2 hours by car.

If you are feeling energetic then Finca Lagarto is an ideal base for, horse riding, jeep safaris, golfing, diving and boat trips, (kite) surfing and mountain biking.

If all that activity sounds too much for you then why not just stay 'at home' on the finca?
